Review: This is a perfect camera for anyone who loves photography but isn't quite ready for an SLR. It offers high quality images and an ease of use that is unmatched, plus there are various accessories (lenses etc) that allow the camera to be even more functional.
Pros: I love this camera. It is so easy to use and has a lot of "Growth" potential. I have it set on automatic for most everything, but I like that as my skills and confidence grow I can begin to control more and more.
Cons: the memory card that comes with it is SMALL!!! but that's my only "con"

Review: It is a good camera for a prosumer getting into the hobby but now thw options are far more wide with many others in the same price range.
Pros: It is a cool camera to a prosumer.Great lens and good zoom. You can add optional lensesOne of the biggest CCD in that proce range.
Cons: Not very user friendly.

Review: I am a serious photographer. I own many cameras, including Nikon film SLR's. This is my third digicam (& second Nikon digicam). The 5700 is a great prosumer digicam. It delivers outstanding image quality & is fairly intuitive once you get used to it. Price is a bargin @ under $500. You get the solid build quality of Nikon, along w/their razor sharp lens. 8X zoom is a nice feature but you can not use it unless you are in very bright lighting. Flash, as w/many prosumer digicams, is weak. This camera tends to burn up batteries @ a very significant rate. Make sure you have @ least one back-up; more is better.
Pros: Good value f/the price, especially now that the 8700 & D-70 has come out. Nikon optics are top notch. Very user programable(but you must read the extensive owner's manual). Amazing image quality.
Cons: Dim light auto focus is almost impossible. Very bad design, not to have incorporated a dim-light-focus-aid-light. Camera start up & exposure are good but should be closer to instantaneous.

Review: Been using it for a year and have made terrific prints up to 11x14 using the Canon S4000 (love this printer!). Like all digitals, the view thru the viewfinder is small, but that's my bigest complaint. Until someone can make storing pictures dramatically faster in a digital camera, this should satisfy me for years. I should note that I shoot about 2000 pictures a year with a SLR and am a semi-pro, but I now use the Coolpix for 90% of my photography.
Pros: the 8x zoom!light, easy, memory and easys of use.
Cons: Feels like the lens needs to be treated gently, but so far it feels that way for any zoom greater than 3x, and there are very few of them.

Review: This is my fourth digital camera. The Nikon 5700 is replacing an Oly C2100. I loved the Oly but I love the 5700 even more. Granted, the 5700's zoom isn't quite as generous as the Oly's but OH, those 5 megapixels make for some beautiful 13x19 prints. Decent prints that size are just not possible with the 2.1 megapixel Oly.
Also, the Nikon feels much more "professional" overall. And, the fact that it fits in a smaller camera case (compared to the C2100) is nice too.
Pros: Big Zoom, Relatively Small Footprint, GREAT Pictures
Cons: No Image Stabilization

Review: I wanted the best, and feel I got it. This Nikon kicks butt with its 5 zillion pixels - I can't tell it is digital on 8x10 prints! If you are a little bit tech'y, and want something that does what you want it to, while delivering great results, get this 5700!
Pros: Outstanding image quality, ability to adjust just about any setting you want to, 8X Nikor FD zoom lens (very nice), good software. Inherent Nikon quality.
Cons: Awkward filter mount due to lens pop out and extension when zooming. 16MB CF is just "starter", I bought a Gig CF for 400 images at highest JPEG.
