Review: I looked at Nikon but in the same price range (slightly lower) Canon offer a VAST selection of quality lenses. I will have this camera for many years and will produce many fine images.
Pros: Allows any one to be as creative as there imagination and know-how allows.
Cons: It is not a full frame and I worry the thousands in Len's might bite me; but the lens's are quite remarkable Canon 10X22mm, Canon 60mm macro, Canon 50mm 1.4, Canon 70x300m zoom, and Sigma 18X125mm.

Review: This is a fantastic camera. I own and use both of the earlier Rebel digitals, the XT. I've used those professionally for several years. This camera is a big boost in quality and features, but not a huge increase in weight. If you shoot a lot, camera weight matters, so does size in many cases.
This one's a real keeper, plan to use it for years. I got the EFS 17-85mm image stabliizing lens for it to add to my lens collection.
Pros: Well built, durable, precise, LARGE viewscreen, easy to use and learn, multiple options, great ergonomic design. Looks like a pro camera, and indeed it is.
Cons: I'd love to see a built-in vertical shutter button for a lightweight camera. I shoot at least 50 percent vertical.

Review: This is one of the best digitals Canon has introduced in years; and, it will be phased out sometime next year. With the rebate being offered, it's an even better deal!
Pros: Large LCD screen
fast motor drive
large MP
Cons: Not weather resistent

Review: I have not yet used the higher end Canon cameras. but I fell in love with the 30D. Overall it is just what the advanced amateur needs. Great backup camera for the more costly pro cameras as well. I was at first shocked by the cost of Canon speedlights, but when you realize all they can do that my older flash units never could do (E-TTL), I understand why they are so expensive. I had a collection of Canon Elan 7E EF lenses, and other accessories already and that helped me decide on Canon over switching to Nikon. My advice if purchasing a new camera system is to get all candidates 'in your hands' before making up your mind on which to buy. I like to research the internet, ask locals, etc to help decide before buying.
Pros: Features galore. 2.5" LCD can display thumbnail, tech data, and either RGB or Luminance hstogram all at once. Long battery life. Picture Styles - which can be easily modified to your own liking. Really works well in low lighting yeilding great pictures.
Cons: The little multi-way joystick button not easy to manipulate with and without gloves on. Canon system add-on's expensive. Not dust sealed as is equivalent (and more costly) Nikon.

Review: This is a mid-price camera that performs like a $3000 camera. Don't let the price fool you. This camera is studio worthy if you invest in a high quality lens. This camera has inspired my wife to move out of the point and shoot world and into learning more about using a camera in manual. She took some pictures of our kids using the camera in auto mode and was blown away by the outcome. I showed her the
Pros: Easy to use in auto mode
Manual mode offers all the control needed to produce stunning photos
Low noise and pixalation
Excellent contrast rendering
Unbelievable camera for the price
Cons: I use manual mostly in low light conditions as leaving the camera in auto will usually shift the color to blue.
